Aims And Objectives
The study’s overarching purpose is to determine whether or not investors’ consideration of certain aspects while making investment and risk-taking decisions vary according to demographic profile, or whether or not these elements are connected. To learn about the behavioural aspects of financial markets that traditional finance fails to cover. There are a few examples I’d want to investigate in order to attain my research goal:
· To study the relationship between demographic factors and various investor biases
· To see if there is any association between one’s confidence in their financial knowledge
and certain demographic factors
· To analyse how investors are affected by herding bias
· To analyse the impact of overconfidence bias on level of independence while decision making
· To analyse the impact of pseudoscience on decision-making
· To determine the relationship between level of education and dependence on pseudoscience.Hypothesis that needs to be tested
The variables and their relationships that I am willing to investigate will serve as the foundation for the generation of hypotheses. The following is a list of some of the null hypotheses that I would want to test, however the list is not exhaustive:
· H1: There is no correlation between the independency while financial decision-making and gender of the investor
· H2: There is no correlation between the level of dependency while financial decision-making and the age of the investor
· H3: There is no correlation between the level of dependency while financial decision-making and the occupation of the investor
· H4: There is no association between gender of the investor and investor confidence
· H5: There is no significant relationship between Investor Confidence and age groups of the Investor
· H6: There is no association between herding bias and gender of the investor
· H7: There is no significant relationship between pseudoscience bias and level of education of the investor· H8:There is no significant relationship between pseudoscience bias and age of the investor
