As a reminder, you should compile the contents of Papers 1, 3, and 4 into a Policy Research paper. You will need to re-write the material from those papers in essay form, so that your final paper has a readable ‘flow’ that provides a comprehensive analysis of the policy. Be sure that this final paper includes any amendments suggested in the feedback provided by your instructor.
This final paper also must include a full list of sources cited in the paper – an APA formatted references page; do not merely attach your Annotated Bibliography. You should include only the reference entries of the sources cited in your paper; also, the references page (in an APA paper) provides only the reference entry of the source, not the summary of the article or source, as was provided in your annotated bibliography.
This final paper should be written as if the reader has not read any portions you previously submitted. Therefore, be sure to fully explain each of the issues and ideas you are presenting in the paper. Prepare the paper as if you were sending it to an educated outsider who is not familiar with the course text (e.g., your boss or an elected official who requested information from you).
IMPORTANT: In addition to the material you already have provided in previous weeks, your final paper must include the following:
(1) the consequences, both intentional and unintentional as well as short-term and long-term, of the policy
(2) your stance on the issue that should be described in a brief lobbying piece in which you fully explain why the policy should be continued or discontinued (include this under a separate, specific heading). NOTE: This should be the only portion of your paper with a tone of advocacy. The other sections of the paper should present information as neutrally as possible.
**This final paper needs to be written in APA format with section headings.** Include a title page and References page(s). An abstract is optional. The final paper should be a minimum of five pages in length (not including the title or References pages); “A” papers are typically 6-8 pages long. I will attach papers 1, 3, &4 as well as my annotated bibliography for your convenience. If you need anything else to get started or complete the work, please let me know asap.
