- Must include an Executive
Summary of issues in your paper.
- The
executive summary belongs at the beginning of your paper. “An executive summary provides an overview of a
larger document or research and is usually the first thing your reader
will see.” - Must be a minimum of 4
full pages, a maximum of 5 pages in length - (page allotment does not
include cover, appendix or reference pages) and must be double-spaced
only (multiple spaces between lines will adversely affect the grade of
your paper) - Must contain a list of
reference sources or bibliography - (Endnotes are optional.
However, a references/bibliography
page is required, must be
separate and does not count toward your page requirements.) - Must include research from
several sources, including the textbook, on the approved topic - Wikipedia is not an acceptable source. Please refrain from
using it. - Must include your
assessment / analysis (your view point) of the subject matter/research where necessary, make labor
relations-related recommendations, etc.
Also, in preparing term papers:
- Do not use bullet
points! Express thoughts clearly
in paragraph format. - Do not provide numbered
/ itemize lists as responses! Express thoughts in essay formant - Do not use graphs, tables
or pictures in the body of your paper! Again, express your thoughts using words in paragraph &
essay format. (Any charts, graphs,
photos, etc. must be placed in an appendix at the end of the paper) - Avoid
“over-quoting” or excessive use of others’ material with quotation marks
around it. Use your own words! - Pay attention to grammar,
spelling, syntax, organization of thoughts, etc.
