Analyze a short story, singling out ONE element such as the author’s voice (tone, style, irony), point of view or symbolism

These are my teacher’s written requirements: Analyze a short story, singling out ONE element such as the author’s voice (tone, style, irony), point of view or symbolism. Show how this element functions in the story as a whole. DO NOT WRITE ABOUT THE PLOT. Do not retell the story; analyze it. You can use only the stories that are in our calendar

Length: 4-6 pages, not counting a works cited page
You CANNOT use a TH word to start any sentence that is not directly quoted from the story.
Document your quotes and you MUST use quotes from the story
You must have three sources. You can have more. Two of these sources MUST BE FOUND by using the YC Library databases. Your story counts as the third source. Use academic sources, not blog pages or free paper websites. DO NOT USE Wikipedia or Shmoop. Stay away from the web unless absolutely necessary; use the library resources. You have more than enough time to find sources in the databases.
Include the following info in the upper left corner: your name, the assignment, ENG 102, & the date,
MLA Formatting is required
Do not include a copy of your short story like you did a poem for essay #2.
DO NOT define the technique you are writing about in your paper. Assume we both know the definition.
