– 7 to 9 pages of writing, double-spaced, single-sided, and typed with 1” margins and font size of 12 pts only, with Calibri or TNR as the model font for the font size reference, set the paragraph settings to Double line spacing, with 0 before and 0 after the line, and be sure it is not adding spacing between paragraphs of the same style.
– title page and works cited/bibliography dont count to the 7 page minimum
– a title page, textual documentation [endnote, footnote, parenthetic citation or in-source citation] and a bibliography/works cited [which dont count toward the minimum # of compositional pages].
– use of 5-8 scholarly sources, listed in an approved bibliographical format [APA]
– scholarly sources are generally written by a trained scholar who has done research in primary documents, and who has had the document peer reviewed
– only one source you use may be an encyclopedia or a textbook- regardless of if it web-based or printed
– only 1/3 of all sources used may come from the internet
* online digital libraries, like JStor, Lexus/Nexus, Ebsco-Host and the Gale Network do not count toward this total, as these libraries are most likely to have quality sources
* google Scholar should be good to go, just remember to look for collegiate quality research- not superficial historical accounts

– proper textual documentation of information with appropriate citations throughout the text must be followed, in academic format
– if the average is fewer than 3 citations per page, its probably not supported adequately in the paper
– proper spelling, punctuation, and grammar throughout the paper, written in an academically appropriate style
