Research Question: Are police training practices contributing to the use of force among police officers?
Purpose statement: This research will explore the potential effect police training practices in the policy academy might have on officers’ use of force in the field as a means of making recommendations to reduce the use of force in the long run.
this annotated bibliography is for the research paper that is due in a few weeks, hopefully, if you accept this, I can request you to do my research design paper since you have already started doing research. my final research paper includes 20 sources but right now the professor wants 10 and he wants an annotated bibliography done for them. the sources that you find for my research question don’t have to support one side of the question. this assignment as a whole is a research project, and my finding should make a conclusion based on what I found. there should be a balance.
Using what I have provided above, which is my research question and the purpose statement, All students are required to submit an annotated bibliography that will be used as the basis of their research design. The bibliography should contain ten (10) academic sources (i.e. academic books and journal articles, government reports, think-tank reports, etc..). Moreover, the bibliography should include sources that not only cover previous studies completed on the topic of interest, but also theory(ies) that can be used to frame the discussion of the respective topic.
Remember each entry in the annotated bibliography must include the following:
1. Describe the problem the researcher(s) are attempting to address;
2. State the central purpose or focus of the study;
3. Describe information about the sample, population, subjects and/or unit of analysis that the researcher analyzes;
4. Review the key results;
5. Critique the methods used in the study (i.e. point out the technical/methodological flaws of the study and how that impacts the authors’ ability to make the inferences and conclusions they make); and
6. How does the study relate to your own research that your annotated bibliography is on?
