Purpose: To pair or trio with others students to create a Teaching Tool. To critically examine and teach on human trafficking in the U.S.
C2: Humanities (ALOs)
Upon successful completion of a C2 course, students should be able to:
analyze and understand works of philosophical and humanistic importance, including their temporal and cultural dimensions;
explore and articulate their own subjective aesthetic and intellectual responses to such texts;
analyze and assess ideas of value, meaning, and knowledge, as produced within the humanistic disciplines; and
research and write effective analyses of works of the human intellect and imagination.
Assignment: To allow students to research, create and teach from the tools of PowerPoint.
TOPIC: Human Trafficking in the United States
1. Choose either sex or labor trafficking in the U.S. (debt trafficking comes with both).
Do Sex Trafficking in the US (with debt trafficking)
2. Research:
a. You must use at least two (2) scholarly, peer reviewed expert sources on your topic
b. You may use non-scholarly sources but make sure they are reliable:
.gov
.org
These work as good non-scholarly peer reviewed sources.
3. You must discuss a moral theory on at least ONE slide and how the theory can help discern how to stop this atrocity. You may expand upon the moral theory as you see it fits your Teaching.
4. It may help to research human trafficking in one State in the U.S. and view how it is being handled.
4. You can address the topic in any way you choose. Remember, that you are creating power points that are meant to ‘Teach’ others, therefore, make sure you keep that in mind.
5. Creative: but not insensitive; visuals are okay to add; video clips, ok.
6. At least 20 slides should work well.
7. Works Cited: Must be MLA or APA on last slide; include ALL research used in the PP’s
8. Contribution slide: each student must explain how and what they contributed to the PPs.
