A conceptual or theoretical framework is a lens through which you approach and address a project. For applied degrees, conceptual frameworks are more common, though that does not come at the exclusion of a theoretical framework. A conceptual framework in applied research may come through selecting industry or government-mandated standards, policies, or procedures. The framework may intersect with commonly accepted and documented theories used in practice.
A conceptual framework may be part of applying an existing and documented theory to an applied problem. In applied studies or projects, the framework may apply a theory to understand and address a practice-based problem to determine if the theory may help resolve the identified and documented issue. The creation of new theories is sporadic in applied studies, and it is essential to note that attempting a different tactical approach to an existing problem does not constitute the creation of a new theory.
The theoretical framework I am using is intersectionality. In this paper, you will need to include the components of the theory ( intersectionality) and describe it in detail. Then, you will need to talk about how intersectionality is applied to the different roles that women in
leadership positions have and how navigating those roles is difficult.
