read the book, Brooks, Justin. (2023).You Might Go to Prison, Even Though
You’re Innocent. University of California Press. ISBN-13:9780520386839, and
write a scholarly book review.
For this
assignment, you must cite at least five peer-reviewed articles,
not books, in your review. Your scholarly book review must be between
2,250 to 2,700 words. For this assignment, you need to do more than merely
provide a synopsis of the book. Rather, provide a scholarly analysis of the
book and explain what, if anything, it contributes to our understanding of
correctional systems and practices.
Also, scholarly book reviews enhance one’s
visibility as a burgeoning scholar, make a contribution to the field of
criminal justice, and provide invaluable opportunities for personal growth. I
will provide you with an example of a scholarly book review essay in the attachment.

least five peer-reviewed journal articles and include these in the references
at the end of the book review.
Remember, for your book review essay, be sure to cite peer-reviewed
articles and not internet articles/newspaper articles, etc. Also, please do not cite books, and
especially avoid citing textbooks! And,
you will want to put your articles in the proper APA format (or, if you prefer,
you can emulate the format in the book review essay example provided). Please be sure that when you cite articles in
your book review essay, you make reference to key aspects of the article. Do not merely paraphrase the abstract, as
this adds very little to the discussion and is often very easily detected. It must be evident that you are, not only
able to locate meaningful articles, but that you have, also, reflected upon
these articles and are able to relate these to your analysis of the book.
