1. The review should give the name of the book and its author(s) within the first two paragraphs.
2. The review should summarize what the book is about, identify the author’s main argument(s) or point(s), and provide the reader with a recommendation on whether the book is worth reading. Limit your book summary to no more than one page. The review should NOT be a three-page recap of the entire book from start to finish.
3. The review should evaluate how well the author supported his or her main argument(s) or point(s). It should provide one or two examples to illustrate how the author supported or failed to support this argument.
4. The review should analyze both the strengths and weaknesses of the book. Even a book that receives a positive review will have weaknesses. It is your job as the reviewer to find both. You should cite specific examples from the book to illustrate these strengths and weaknesses. In doing so, explain why a particular example is an illustration of a strength or weakness.
5. The review should explain the relevance and significance of the book for today.
