This activity gives you the opportunity to build a simple automation as a part of your email marketing strategy. The main task is to build an email campaign for the business of your choice.
Your first step is to choose your business and determine what the ultimate action the business wants the lead to do. For example, if you are a new yoga studio, the ultimate action might be for them to come try a class for free. If you are a social media freelancer, the ultimate action for your customer might be to schedule a 15-minute free consultation phone call. If you are an e-commerce store, you may want them to purchase something. You can get creative with the ultimate action, but be sure it is relevant to your business. Be sure to write out specifically what the ultimate action the business wants the email campaign to accomplish.
Then, you will fill in details for the first three steps of the sequence including the subject line of the email, a summary of the content of the email, and what the trigger is. For the sake of this assignment, the trigger cannot be “open the email. There will be 7 total emails you detail – include the steps in the illustration.
