This assignment asks you to summarize and reflect on the assigned readings, highlighting at least three instances of new learning for you, with relevant application of these ideas to your own current or future teaching.

Purpose:

The module materials present key findings from the fields of Second Language Acquisition and Bilingualism, including factors that influence language learning. But, teachers can only shape some of these factors. This response to the reading asks you to sift and synthesize research findings into actionable classroom plans.

Submission:

• Summarize a few key research findings that were new to you.
• Give some brief examples of how you can utilize these research findings, in alignment with standards, to plan effective instruction, select relevant materials, and differentiate learning tasks for Emergent Bilingual learners at different levels of English proficiency.
• Include quotes from the readings as applicable, with page number and explanation for your choice.
