Cognitive, Emotional, and social development in adolescents or Emerging into adulthood

Juvenile court refers families and youth to several organizations for support, counsel, training, and rehabilitation. One of the referral organizations is At-Promise Centers, which offers several services and has served over 1700 youth. They also provide a safe space while on suspension. You have been invited to offer recommendations on how this organization can boost the social, emotional, and cognitive development of the youth that they serve. Review handout for basic information.

What developmental stage will your recommendations be based on (adolescence, emerging adulthood)? Name the theory or concept that informs cognitive, social, or emotional development.  Some theory or concept examples include but are not limited to: adult attachment styles, churning, inner flow work zone, identity statuses, Piaget’s cognitive theory, deviancy training (there is a section on delinquency).
Explain one theory/concept in your own words. Why should the center be informed about this theory or concept? Target length 5-6 sentences for this response.
How can this theory or concept be put into practice at the center? (These are your recommendations). What kind of change should we expect if your recommendation is adopted? Target length is 5-6 sentences for this response.
Describe two specific ways that your recommendation would change for the youth in another developmental stage (adolescence, emerging adulthood) and explain why. If you addressed social, cognitive, or emotional development in #1, continue to address that for this developmental stage.
