Every week, you will post to our class collaborative timeline. Be sure to read the instructions below before posting. You can also watch Video: How to Set Up and Use Sutori for a step-by-step walkthrough.
When you are ready, here is a direct link to our collaborative timeline.Links to an external site.
What Is the Collaborative Timeline?
This is a study tool which this class will build collaboratively. We will be using a website called Sutori.to create a timeline of U.S. history, and to share your perspectives on it. Each week, you will choose one item to add to this timeline.
How Do I Sign Up for Sutori?
See Video: How to Set Up and Use Sutori for instructions.
What Should I Post on the Timeline?
You will post one item to the timeline each week. Here are the guidelines:
Each week, you must post at least one item on our collaborative timeline.
You may not post an item that someone else has already been posted by a another student. So post early!
What can you post? Anything interesting from this week’s reading or videos that you think we all should remember. Items might include:
A quotation that you liked
A fact, date or event from this week’s readings that you think is important
Some information about an important person from this period
A trend or set of ideas from this period that you find interesting.
Your entry should be 3-4 sentences long. Post your item, and explain a bit about why it is important.
How do you post?
Again, be sure to view the tutorial.
To post, find the header for this week’s chapter. Below it is a blue line. If you mouse over that blue line, a plus sign will appear. Click it to add your content.
I’ve put a sample entry on the timeline to show you the correct format. Your item should include: Your content, your name, and the source from which you got the information.
You can also comment on other students’ posts, if you like.
Always remember to put your name on your posts. I will not retroactively award credit if you forget to write your name on your post.
If you have any questions, please let me know.
