The purpose of this assignment is to critically analyze and compare the interview
responses of a real Chief Learning Officer (CLO) and ChatGPT acting as a CLO, while
relying on empirical and scholarly literature to support claims and analysis. Doctorallevel students pursuing an EdD degree will conduct interviews with both the real CLO
and ChatGPT to explore their perspectives, insights, and decision-making processes. The
objective is to examine the similarities, differences, and potential implications of
utilizing AI models in high-level executive roles within the field of learning and
development, with supporting evidence from existing literature

 Assignment Guidelines 
 1. Planning and Preliminary Research
§ Conduct a comprehensive review of information on the role of a Chief Learning
Officer, their responsibilities.
§ Familiarize yourself with empirical studies and scholarly articles that discuss
the use of AI models in executive positions. 
2. Identifying an Important and Relevant Area for Exploration- 

Identify an important and relevant area within the field of organizational
learning (or learning and development) that you believe warrants further
examination and exploration.
§ Justify the significance and relevance of the chosen area for exploration,
supporting your claims with evidence from the literature. 

3. Developing Interview Questions
§ Develop a set of interview questions specifically targeting the chosen area for
both the real CLO and ChatGPT as a CLO.
§ Ensure that the interview questions are informed by existing empirical and
scholarly literature and designed to elicit detailed responses. 
4. Interviewing the Real CLO
§ Schedule and conduct an interview with a Chief Learning Officer who is willing
to participate in this class project.
§ Record the responses accurately (with consent) and analyze them in relation to
the chosen area, incorporating relevant literature to support your analysis. 
5. Interviewing ChatGPT as a CLO
§ Review resources and tutorials on how to create prompts in ChatGPT.
§ Engage in a conversation with ChatGPT, utilizing it as a simulated CLO.
§ Ask the same interview questions used with the real CLO, and record
ChatGPT’s responses accurately for analysis.
§ Evaluate ChatGPT’s responses by comparing them to the real CLO’s responses
and drawing insights from the literature. 
6. Comparative Analysis
§ Transcribe and organize the interview responses from both the real CLO and
ChatGPT.
§ Analyze the similarities, differences, strengths, and weaknesses in their
responses, drawing upon empirical and scholarly literature to support your
claims.
§ Synthesize the findings from the analysis, discussing the implications of using
AI models like ChatGPT in executive roles and the potential impact on
organization learning, learning and development. 
 7. Reflective Analysis and Personal Reflection
§ Engage in a reflective analysis of the interview process, comparing your
experiences and observations during the interviews with the real CLO and
ChatGPT as a CLO.
§ Consider the dynamics, nuances, and limitations present in each interview, and
reflect on the importance of incorporating empirical and scholarly literature in
analyzing their responses. 

Write a personal reflection that incorporates your insights, observations, and
ethical considerations, discussing the value of empirical support in
understanding the implications of AI integration in executive positions. 


8. Final Paper
§ Compile the comparative analysis report and personal reflection (max. 10
pages), including an introduction, literature review, methodology, findings,
discussion, and conclusion sections.
§ Ensure proper citation and referencing of all sources used, including empirical
studies and scholarly articles.
§ Submit the final paper according to the writing requirements provided in the
syllabus.
