Conduct a brief interview with an adult about their involvement (or non-involvement) in crime and deviance over the life course. This interview can be synchronous (e.g., in-person, via videoconference) or asynchronous (e.g., via email). Ask interview questions that are informed by what you learned in this course. Take detailed notes on your subject’s answers. Write a paper describing your subject’s life course (non-)participation in crime and/or deviance and analyzing it in terms of the theories and evidence we have covered this semester. Cite both the readings and the lectures in your paper and, for outside sources, please include a reference list. And please protect your interviewee’s privacy, and do not identify them in your paper!
For this assignment you may make up a person to interview. The information doesn’t need to be accurate so you can make up an imaginary criminal to interview but act as though it is a real person who has committed real crime.
Be sure to focus on the life course transitions of this criminal.
