I have a case study which needs to be implied and reffered to
– William Johnson 82 year old
During community nursing home visit to William, you notice 2 large bags of prescribed medications for the patient but they are unopened. This medication includes Aspirin, Simvastatin, Paracetamol and Amitriptyline amongst others. William has full mental capacity but tells you he does not take the medication as they ‘do not do anything’. How could this situation be dealt with safely, considering the role of the nurse in measuring and promoting quality care and the role of the nurse in prescrbing medication?
Contemporary evidence, guidlines, policy and theoritical cocnepts should be applied, and answers should include critical analysis of the following in relation to the case study above
– The key issues with the scenario, in relation to how nurses measure and promotequality care
