First part of essay – broader, conceptual and critical discussion of key essay question concepts as related to module themes – inclusion, curriculum and diverse learners.
Discussion of learning theories
Examples of discussion points:
1.Very briefly describe are 3 or 4 key learning theories. （Includ：Behaviourism and Constructivism）
2. Discuss similarities and differences between the learning theories.
3. Discuss the strengths and limitations of the learning theories in relation to inclusive curriculum design- how are they useful or not useful?
4. Discuss what inclusive curriculum means – different ideas in the literature but how you will use the term curriculum.
Second part of the essay/ presentation: Application to chosen context and/or curriculum area.
Pick a specific context and/or curriculum area. E.g. To what extent does Behaviourism influence the teaching of Maths or what learning theory best supports the development of learners with SEND in a particular subject areas. Why have you chosen this focus?
How has this focus been influenced by the literature?
How do the issues and factors discussed in the first part (i.e. the strengths and limitations of learning theories) play out in this specific context and/ or curriculum area?
