In at least four pages, explore the following prompt: Describe how the historical separation between the meanings and/or knowledge practices ascribed to Nature and Society shaped the world. Some questions you might consider include: What effects has this separation had, and how does it endure today? Why do many academics and people involved in environmental justice struggles challenge the dominant meanings of Nature and Society (and their separation into hardened categories), and how do you think they/we should best do so? You should draw on the readings from the first weeks of this course, and bring in at least one new example from the news, your own experiences, or your knowledge. (Examples may include forms of fiction, art, poetry, or other creative works if you choose!)
– The questions are there to help, not for you to answer them directly. They give you an overall idea.
– Something to bring in is to talk about the war in Sudan and its causes; I relate it to the overall topic since I am Sudanese.
– MAKE THE ESSAY FLOW; DON’T MAKE IT CHOPPY MAKE IT FLOW; NO USE OF AI
