Here are the requirements from my teacher:
I do not want an introductory quote from another source, nor do I want a cover page. Your paper should be typed in Arial or Times New Roman font only, and double-spaced. Your paper should be no less than 1000 words (about 3 pages). (The heading and title DO NOT count as part of the word count). Since you are using only one book for this paper, I do not want footnotes or a bibliography; just put your “quotes in quotation marks” (123). Please have a clear introduction of what your main argument(s) is (are), and a conclusion tying all the evidence and examples together and how your point was proven. DUE AT 11:59 PM ON THURSDAY, JUNE 22, 2023 on Canvas.
Because you are submitting your paper online through Canvas, there are a couple of important things you need to know: I have linked your paper submission to turnitin.com. This will be automatic once you upload your paper on Canvas. This will give me an exact word count of your paper AND it will also show me if you have plagiarized/used AI and where you got the source(s) from; this includes ripping off pieces of multiple sources: turnitin.com will show me where all those pieces come from, so DO NOT do it. I will give you a zero on your paper if you are caught plagiarizing. If you do not follow directions or meet the minimum word count requirement, points will be deducted from the overall score of your paper.
Paper Topic:
Using specific examples and AT LEAST SIX quotes from An Indigenous Peoples’ History of the United Statesby Roxanne Dunbar-Ortiz (CHAPTERS 1-5 ONLY), describe the methods the U.S. used to take over and exploit Native Indigenous lands. Why do you think these details are not emphasized in politics and society? This paper is worth 100 points.
This is NOT meant to be a summary of the book, but rather your analytical thoughts on how the Native Indigenous people were treated by the colonists who eventually became Americans. Please do not retell the book to me.
