Desing of In-wheel motor generator and evaluation of charging speed on EVs battery life.

Mechanism:-

The working principle of the In-wheel motor generator is as follows ,when the vehicle decelerates the kinetic energy of the vehicle is utilized into electrical energy by the In-wheel motors, acting as generators the EMF produced is sent to a converter which converters the electrical energy to required standards which can charge a secondary battery which is connected to the vehicle electrical system, a battery management system monitors the charging process and optimizes the charge to ensure it is not overcharged. The energy stored in the battery can then be used to power a charger among the four types of chargers, which will draw energy from the battery and convert it into usable energy to charge the respective battery in the EVs. The energy flow will depend on the specific setup and usage patterns, but in general, the chargers will draw energy from the battery until it is depleted, at which point the in-wheel motor generator will resume charging the battery. It is important to note that the amount of energy produced by the in-wheel generators will vary depending on factors such as time the car runs on neutral gear and overall time of vehicle operation. The size and capacity of the battery will also affect the amount of energy that can be stored and used by the chargers.
Level 1 charger(slow): This charger is designed to be plugged into a standard household outlet and is typically included with the purchase of an electric car. It provides a slow charging rate of around 2-5 miles of range per hour of charging and can be used with a in wheel motor generator energy source and backup battery.
Level 2 charger(fast): This charger requires a dedicated 240-volt circuit, and it provides a faster charging rate of around 10-30 miles of range per hour of charging and can also be used with a in wheel motor generator source and backup battery.
DC Fast charger:(ultra-fast) Also known as Level 3 chargers, these chargers a can charge an electric car’s battery to 80% in as little as 30 minutes. They require a much higher voltage than Level 1 and Level 2 chargers and are typically used with energy sources. Like our in-wheel motor generator
Portable EV charger(standard): These chargers are designed to be portable. They provide a slower charging rate than Level 2 chargers but can be a good option for charging an electric car when away from home.
The system uses the in-wheel motor generator energy as primary source and a battery backup ,to store excess energy produced in our simulation, we will first simulate to show how the EVs batteries are charged by the chargers mentioned, and in second simulation, I will determine how the battery lifespan is affected when charging by each charger that is the decrease in battery capacity
