Project Name
Development of Tax Snap App- Revolutionizing Tax Preparation and launch
Section 1: Brief description of the project:This project is designed to develop an application that will help taxpayers for tax preparation from the convenience of their homes. The proposed project will assist in creating offer a user-friendly, intuitive platform with all the features of expert tax preparation software for submitting taxes. The taxpayer may quickly and accurately prepare, review, and file taxes with the Tax Snap app with the snap of pictures of all tax documents. The app development will be divided into three teams, and team one will manage the timeframe and general progress of the development phases and the release once finalized. Team two will conduct the research required for market surveys and development, and team three is responsible for developing and implementing the actual application.
Section 2: Project Activities and Resources
This section will present the project’s tasks, duration, predecessors, and resources. Each task has been assigned a timeframe and a team for the progression of the app development phases.
The predecessors are dependent on the completion of tasks. The duration of each timeframe is based on the complexity of each task and should be followed as closely as possible to ensure a timely launch date.
Section 3: Project Planning
This section will provide project management charts: Gantt, PERT, and resource charts. The charts summarized in the figures below visually represent the key elements in developing this app. The project is expected to be completed in 180 business days, and the Gantt Chart in Figure will illustrate the project’s projected timeline.
The critical paths of the project are highlighted in green. These areas include the initiation, planning, execution, soft launch, and closing of the project. The hours each team has been scheduled to work on their assigned tasks will be highlighted. Hours are calculated on a 40-hour workweek beginning on Monday and ending on Friday. The network diagram in Figure 3 maps out the schedule sequence for the project.
Section 4: Results
The start date of this project was projected for July 05th, and it is estimated to be complete by December 2nd, consistent with the next tax season opening. The critical paths of this project include the initiation, planning, execution, soft launch, and closing of the project.
Although the responsibilities have been divided amongst the three teams, one problem the current plan does not consider is recognized national holidays during the expected timeframe of this project. There are at least three major holidays that could potentially delay the progress of this project.
