literature review is a descriptive summary of research on a topic that has previously been studies. The purpose of a
literature review is to inform readers of significant knowledge and ideas that have been established on a given
topic/phenomena. Its purpose is to compare, contrast, and/or connect research that was identified when reviewing work on
the topic/phenomena and coming to some conclusion on that research and posing directions and ideas for future research.
The purpose of this assignment is to facilitate your ability to research a topic or phenomena so that you can learn to identify
and formulate an inquiry question that defines what you would like to learn, apply your knowledge on reading that you have
literature review. This will require substantial work outside of class to research the topic, locating appropriate primary and
secondary sources and preparing your thoughts and paper throughout the term.
Please follow the instructions as listed below and prepare a literature review topic of your choice that pertains to an advanced
topic within the field of psychology. Your review will discuss the content within the Feldman, Lifespan Development text and
have at least five (5) additional primary sources (research articles that present original research for the first time), which will
serve as the main citations/references, forming the body of your paper. You may also use as many secondary sources
(additional texts or literature reviews) as you wish. The nature of this paper requires that the student discuss the nature of a
topic and review the available literature on the topic, coming to coming to some conclusion with an inquiry-based pointing to
further research on the topic. Thus, the paper will serve to demonstrate the studentsβ knowledge of central concepts covered
within the course and their ability to incorporate that knowledge with further research on an advanced topic within the
discipline
MUST USE THESE sources.
