This discussion requires one post and two replies, but, more posts are welcome—and encouraged!
After reading/watching either “Should Writers Use They Own English” by Vershawn Ashanti Young or “From One Second to the Next” by Werner Herzog, Carroll’s “Backpacks vs. Briefcases,” and re-reading the Project 3 instructions, consider these questions:
What is the central argument your text (either Young’s or Werner’s) makes? How does the rhetor attempt to use ethos, pathos, and logos to persuade their audience to accept their argument?
If you find you need more reading, beyond Caroll’s “Backpacks vs. Briefcases,” check out this webtext from the Writing Commons: Rhetoric
Remember, you must submit a post (“start a new thread”) before any of your classmates’ already submitted posts will become visible. And don’t forget to include your own question for your classmates to respond to.
