Does the federal (national) government of the United States have too much power, too little power, or just the right amount?

Does the federal (national) government of the United States have too much power, too little power, or just the right amount?

From throughout the semester, give five pieces of evidence that support your response to the statement.

This question is your opinion – there are no “right” or “wrong” answers. (Well, there may be some wrong ones – I wouldn’t mention any conspiracy theories) I want you to consider, based on the information throughout the course and the position you have taken, what your five most important pieces of evidence are.

These pieces of evidence can be broad, such as describing the federal bureaucracy, or narrow, such as pointing out a time the national government had to intervene, or the unfair influence of lobbyists. For each piece, be sure to explain fully and to use specific examples, pointing out why it supports your argument of the power the federal government should have.

Your grade will be based not only on your description and explanation of these pieces of evidence, but on several other factors – whether you incorporate information from throughout the semester, the length of your response, and how you express yourself.
