Stand back and ponder – and assess. What do you believe to be the most significant characteristics and themes of Britain’s 17th & 18th centuries? As you do so, consider the following questions: What do you consider to have been the most important episode during this period? Who do you think was the most significant individual of this period? What was the most noteworthy change/development which took place during this century? Provide examples/evidence. Finally, what is it about this century that you find most perplexing and difficult to understand?
