What is the lasting impact of war and its aftermath on writers such as Tim O’Brien? (The morality of war, veteran’s issues—PTSD–Post Traumatic Stress syndrome, mental health issues, depression, anxiety, suicide, etc.
What role does Sherman Alexi’s background and ethnicity as a native American play thematically in his short story Flight Patterns, as well as other stories?
What role does class and socioeconomics play in George Saunders’s short story Puppy? (Prejudice, income inequality, mental health issues, etc.)
Discuss and analyze the role race, class, and socioeconomics plays in Flannery O’Connor’s short story “Everything That Rises Must Converge.”

Or you can always come up with an original topic of your own which I strongly encourage in order to promote independent thinking and growth as a writer.
