Ethical Situation 3
One 3-year-old in your class spends most of her time rolling a truck alongside the block area. She howls and disrupts large-group activities and bangs her head to put herself to sleep at naptime. Her pediatrician has told her parents, “She will grow out of it.� You have found she needs constant one-on-one attention, and other children’s parents are beginning to complain that this child takes too much of the adults’ time and energy.
