Using the book, The Glass Castle: A Memoir,
Identify the members of the family and their primary support network.
*Provide a general assessment of the family, including their history, economic status,
cultural characteristics, religious practices, communication patterns, structure, roles,
strengths, and vulnerabilities.
*Describe the characteristics of the community (choose one community in which they
lived) and describe the family within the context of their community.
*Analyze the impact of trauma on the family as a whole. Identify key turning points that
had particular meaning and affected them during the experience.
*The paper should be supported by a minimum of six peer-reviewed references.
*APA formatting and citations are required.
*Then the student will select ONE member of the family and complete a Biopsychosocial
Assessment (Template is provided).
*The student will create a Master Treatment Plan with at least two treatment goals and 2
measureable objectives for each goal for the family member identified in the
Biopsychosocial Assessment (Template is provided).
*The student will conclude this project with a short reflection discussing their emotional
reactions to the case, how they feel about the experience of this family. This portion of
the assignment may be written in the first person. Students are encouraged to indicate any
particular aspects of the case that might be emotionally difficult for them and explain
why.
