1. What role did surfing and skateboarding play in the early lives of the Zepher Skate Team, in terms of physical and social wellbeing? Is the reality of the Z-Boys reflected in the theory about leisure’s role in physical and social wellbeing in adolescents? (1-2 paragraphs)
2. Skateboarding underwent a transition in the film from an amateur pastime to a professional sport. Some of the Z-Boys were able to leverage their skill into lucrative careers while others were not. Jay Adams talks about the change in feeling from the pool skating days and amateur skate contests to the professional contests. The pro contests he described as less fun because everyone was so serious.
