“fleeing ukraine: what stance have the media of poland and romania taken towards the prospect of a large arrival of ukrainian refugees”

The thesis is being written in the framework of the English-speaking Master’s programme in Media and Refugee/Migrant Flows (EKPA). The paper examines the attitude of the Polish and Romanian media, which have an online and English-language version, to the possibility of a large arrival of refugees from Ukraine. It studies two months: in April and November 2022. Methodology: – Content analysis of articles from Polish and Romanian media which are available online in English. Key tool for analysis: framing theory/framing migration – and (semi-)structured interviews ideally with journalists working in the media under consideration. I have contacted journalists from Poland and Romania to answer the questionnaire I have already prepared. However, so far, I have not received a positive response. Alternatively, I am currently trying to find journalists from Poland and Romania who work in non-English speaking media in Poland. I will keep you informed of any news.
