Your thesis statement must have three main reasons that support your position in a clear sentence format. Highlight the thesis statement. The thesis statement is the roadmap for your essay. It shows the reader what will be argued in the essay. (Each reason in your thesis statement should have one or two paragraphs about that reason, suppport by 1-3 details)

Essay Assignment. For this assignment, you are going to construct as argument to convince others of your position on the minimum wage for the Dallas area.
You will visit TWO of the five websites that are listed in the ebook.
You will evaluate each of the websites making use of some or all of the tools listed above. You will probably want to include your evaluation of the websites as you support the position you are taking.
Finally, you will recommend what the minimum wage should be in your city or state based on the research you have done.
This kind of essay, in which you take a position and provide evidence to support that position, is known as an “argument.” You may want to review these conventions in What Is an Argument? (18.1), The Features of Effective Arguments (18.3), and How to Answer Counterarguments (18.5).
