HBCU Interview: Tervon Blount TRIO Program Coordinator at Elizabeth City State University

Please interview a student, an alumnus/a/i, a faculty member, or an administrator at an HBCU about their experiences at the particular HBCU. You can do the interview on the phone, audio/video teleconference system (e.g., Zoom/Webex/Google Meet), or face-to-face.

To prepare for the interview, draft a set of open-ended questions (include them as an appendix to your paper) pertaining to the specific HBCU, the individual’s role at the HBCU, and HBCUs in general. When you are done, write a paper based on the interview, incorporating relevant literature. Your paper should be no longer than six pages and it should be written in third person.

Write a summary of responses. Use each of the interview question headers (i.e., general biographical information, experience with education, etc.) as a section header to structure your paper. The write-up should be done in paragraph form, not bullet-point or verbatim from your notes. Your paper should offer your own thoughts on what you learned.
