Historical Comparison Research Paper-Choose a work of art from our time period-Renaissance to today

This paper is a comparison of an historical event and a work of art that represents the event.  Choose a work of art from our time period (Renaissance to today, but do not choose one that we will discuss in class—see the monument list on Canvas) that deals with an historical event.  Research the historical event represented in the work of art.
Consider the following in your discussion:
Compare how the artist presents the events compared to the actual historical account.
Does the artist represent the events as they actually occurred?
What has the artist added/subtracted? Why?
Be sure to have a strong thesis statement and use specific examples to support your thesis.  You will probably want to start your paper with a brief analysis of the work of art.  Please limit biographical information to 200 words or less, as this is not a biography of an artist. You MUST turn in a copy of the work of art as well as any other works of art discussed in your paper, or the paper will fail.
You will need to cite all sources.   Please use the MLA style for writing your paper (see  http://owl.english.purdue.edu/owl/resource/557/01/Links to an external site. if you need guidance).

You are required to use at least one scholarly article and one book other than your text book!!!!!

I expect it to be at least 1250 words in length, typed, double spaced and proofread for mistakes.
