How can we reform the tenure and promotion process so that is about recognizing the worth of our colleagues rather than critiquing their flaws? Can we move away from models that treat candidates like defendants and voting faculty like juries?
Instructions for Individual Discussion Forum:
· Individuals
need to discuss/explain the assigned topic in one meaningful post (100–300
words)
· Use
databases such as MEDLINE, CINAHL, AMED, AltHealth Watch, PubMed, and Google
Scholar to search the scientific literature for available evidence.
· Use
references from peer-reviewed scientific literature (or .gov or .edu websites),
not from blogs, corporate websites (such as supplement or device
manufacturers), advocacy organizations, or other sites with no peer review.
Such sites can be of value, and this is not at all meant to discourage you from
reading them. If such a site lists references, please go directly to these
primary sources, read them, and then feel free to share with the class. There
will be occasional exceptions to this rule, such as when an assignment relates
specifically to analyzing the nature of an advocacy group or corporation’s
policies. If in doubt, ask the instructor.
· Intext
citations and references (in APA style) do not count towards the word count.
Source needs to be within the past 5 years (2019-2023)
