How did Cuba between 1959-1963 impact the Cold War, specifically concerning the Bay of Pigs invasion and the Cuban Missile Crisis?

Below is the final paper assignment. Use relevant course materials plus the materials you discover through your own research. The length of the text of the essay should be 12 pages. Follow closely the guidelines and the criteria for evaluating the paper.

Assignment: Considering fully our work on the Global Cold War, write a 12-page paper, building upon 8-10 relevant course readings, in which you research and analyze the dynamics of the Global Cold War, in a country of your choosing from among those we have looked at for a specific time period.
To complete this successfully you must do independent research in order to find 5 useful and credible sources (some combination of book chapters and academic articles) on your chosen country and its significance for the Global Cold War. These must be academic/research in nature and by using them all you should come up with your own argument about the impact of the Global Cold War for the country in question. More importantly, you must incorporate ideas and concepts from our course readings on the given country and time period.

Avoid merely summarizing or repeating the arguments in those sources you find. Think of yourself as joining the conversation by putting forward what you see as the major factors here. Use of uncited sources will result in failure. A “works consulted” page should follow the text of your paper. It should list all the new sources you have found including those you used primarily.
Paper Guidelines and Criteria for Evaluation
Papers should be double-spaced pages, 12 point font, one inch margins. Your name and the question should precede the text of your essay on a title page. Any text material quoted must be in quotation marks and quotations or paraphrasing should be cited in your text as follows: (Frieden, p. 23), (Lecture 2/3), (Document: Truman). Consult advice that describe paraphrasing and how to avoid plagiarism in preparing your essay.
Use points like :
Cuban responses to Operation Mongoose and the OAS debates about isolating Castro
Your task is to consider all of the course material that pertains to the question (not just the major text), decide for yourself what the most important factors are, and write a persuasive analytical essay that selectively uses all of our course materials to support your arguments. Use only our course material in preparing your essay.
Take seriously the following criteria for evaluating papers:
1)Start with an introduction that concisely indicates the topic, your research time frame and question, and, the main points of your paper.
2) Devote a paragraph (7-8 sentences long) to each main point and keep each paragraph on that point. Begin each paragraph with a clear statement of your main point. Stick to discussion of your main points: no general background, no switching focus mid-stream.
3) Demonstrate a thorough reading of all the required readings (and those you have found in your research) and an understanding of issues raised in our discussions thus far – you do this best by citing our relevant course sources.
4) Selective use all relevant course materials as evidence to support your argument. Use only our course material in preparing your essay. Direct quotation of full sentences, key terms and phrases (“”), as well as paraphrased/summarized passages should be cited in text as noted above. Since each point is covered in a paragraph there should be 2 citations per paragraph. Quotations longer than a short sentence would be inappropriate for this paper.
5) A conclusion that summarizes your main points in a brief final paragraph.
6) Mechanics: strive for proper spelling, grammar, sentence structure and avoid awkward phrases, and improper or inadequate citation of references.
