How I Have
a clear understanding on ethnicity, gender, or race and the challenges that some
people may face even when dealing with diversity.
Write
a one-page journal entry (approximately 250 words) in which you:
- Describe some element of your coursework that prompted
you to re-examine your opinion on or view of a topic related to class,
ethnicity, gender, or race.
- Examples of coursework elements include readings,
assignment research, and discussion exchanges.
- A
re-examination of a topic doesn’t necessarily mean you’ve completely
changed your mind. It could just mean that - you discovered new information
or came to a clearer understanding of other people’s positions.
- Describe how you are more comfortable talking
about a topic (Gender diversity in the workplace) due to your readings or
discussions.
- For example, you may be less comfortable because
you’ve identified a gap in your understanding or because you feel a topic
is too emotionally charged. Or you may be more comfortable because of
what you’ve learned or have discovered that people are more open to
discussion than you expected.
- Write with clarity, following mechanics and formatting
requirements.
