The purpose of the Historical Crime and Integrated Theory Paper is to conduct an in-depth examination of one historical crime event of your choosing that occurred in the United States and an analysis of that specific crime through the lens of one theory of your choosing. Your paper will include a description of the event, the historical significance of the event, what social, political, or economic circumstances led to the event, and its aftermath as well as how your chosen theory would view the criminal action from the theory’s unique perspective. The crime will be analyzed from the theoretical viewpoint to show an example of the theory as well as show contributing factors through the theoretical lens.
This paper may integrate any of the following theories or sub-theory categories; Classical School, Positive School, Chicago School, Differential Association, Anomie, Subculture, Labeling, Conflict, Gender-Based, Social Control, Social Learning, Rational, Contemporary, and, Critical.
