The essay must have the following components
Title
Author and R number
The section of problem description
The section of significance of the problem
The section of basics of solving the problem
The section of the summary of the results/methods of solving the problem. It is a good idea to include information on how to classify and group the results and methods, or some analysis on the existing works and critics (e.g., their weakness)
The section of conclusion and your vision on the future work for solving the problem (including potential improvements of existing work)

Typesetting format. The essay must be typeset by a software such as Word or Latex. There is no required, mandatory typesetting format for the essay. Guidelines for essay students (from graduate handbook)
Page limit is at least two and at most three letter size pages (12-point font) not including the references.
