Issues of gender and race that are expressed in particular films, TV shows or by musical artists: I’ll be talking about Burna Boy. Some of the specific issues that I’ll be addressing is how he has helped and continued to spark the conversation of not only police brutality in Nigeria (the recent SARS movement), but also how the government seems to continue to ignore the outcries of their people as they suffer financially and as a toll, physically. He gains a lot of his inspiration from Fela Kuti, who his grandfather managed, and he is often times compared to him for some of his songs that have to do with politics or anything he sampled.
