WHAT THE PAPER IS ABOUT: You will select from the topics/themes listed at the end of this guide one topic/theme that is of interest/concern to you. Once you have made your selection, you need to expound on it by going to at least 3 philosophers (we have considered in the course) who discussed such topic/theme as a critical component of their respective philosophizing. You need to note how the topic/theme has evolved (by pointing out similarities and differences or at very least some nuances) from one philosopher to the next. The last part of the paper (your conclusion) should state very clearly at least four personal insights that you are able to draw from your reflection of what these philosophers say in their respective philosophies. BASIS OF GRADING: Your paper grade will be based on the following: • Clarity/coherence in the exposition/analysis of the topic/theme (75 points) • Attentiveness to proofreading details (10 points) • Citation of reference in the body of the paper as well as at the end of the paper (10 points) • Overall academic quality and appearance of the paper (5 points) TOPICS/THEMES: 1. God 2. Substance 3. Skepticism 4. Limits of Knowledge 5. Dualism of Mind and Body
