Journal entries are due for all of the assigned readings in the text that will be covered during the course. Students will create a unique journal entry from the content in each chapter. The goal is to summarize, critically analyze, and reflect on what you have read in each chapter.
The journal entries are expected to be 2 pages long per chapter. Students may use any note taking format that best facilitates their personal learning, such as outlines, reading annotations, narratives, etc. A file must be submitted on Canvas.
In the reading journals, students must include at least three (3) new pieces of information that they learned and any new perspectives that were gained from the reading. Reflect on how this new information will impact your practice as a social worker. Be specific about what you have read, synthesize the information with what you have learned in class, and demonstrate critical thinking about the material.
