Read the textual materials on pp. 275-76.
Length of essays should be between 500–750 words. Assignments that have a word count MUST be kept within the allotted number of words. Assignments will only be graded up until the number of words allowed. In other words, if you write more than is required you will not be graded on the extra words. Legal writing values concise and precise arguments. These guidelines will assist you with working on your clarity and brevity.
Questions to interact with in your essays:
- Compare and contrast the facts and legal holdings in Dillon v. Legg and in Thing v. LaChusa. Why did the plaintiff/mother in Dillon receive damages for emotional loss while the plaintiff/mother in LaChusa was denied recovery?
