Watch the youtube videos posted below videos, carefully follow instructions and take notes to make sure you understand the terms/concepts listed below. (Be sure to turn on closed captioning for the lecture videos if you need it.)
Additionally this lesson is very visual so I wanted to provide you with some real world examples. Please read the additional instructions below. There are NO LECTURE VIDEOS from me. Rather you are required to watch youtube clips I’ve embedded. Please contact me if you are having technical difficulties playing the videos.
Make sure you clearly understand the following KEY TERMS: Mise-en-scene, Rule-of-Thirds, Three Point Lighting and Blocking. The following four videos are all under five minutes. You are required to watch all four videos. These are all aspects of filmmaking in which the DIRECTOR has the most hands on control.

Choose ONE of the following videos to further expand your understanding of elements of mis-en-scene. The aspects of filmmaking below (Costume Design, Set Decoration, Props and Digital Makeup) are all overseen by department heads on a set. They have crew members who work for them. but the department head collaborates with the director during pre-production to help the director realize his/her/their vision.
