What is the aim of this literature search and summarise assessment (Assignment 1.1)?
The aim of this assignment is to provide you with the initial skills to conduct a literature review and for you to receive qualitative feedback. This is a formative assignment, which means it is intended to provide you with the opportunity to develop your skills in this area and receive feedback on a lower-stakes (20%) assignment before completing a more substantial related (summative) assignment (Assignment 1.2: Literature Review).
You will be assessed on your ability to:
Search for and identify high-quality scientific peer-reviewed literature.
Provide a written summary of the identified literature which demonstrates critical thinking.
What you need to do:
1. Download the provided Article 1 (see below) from the Library via Canvas.
2. Search for, locate, and download Article 2 (see below) from a database as demonstrated in Lectorial 2.
3. Search for and download a third peer reviewed empirical article of your choosing on this topic. It must be
relevant to the topic (i.e., about gender and mathematics abilities). This article must describe an empirical study
(i.e, not a review, nor a meta-analysis).
4. Write a summary of the three articles (500 words total)
5. Ensure your submission is formatted in APA style throughout, including title page, in-text referencing and
reference list (see lectorials).
So the first and second article will be uploaded on files, and I’ll give the example of this assigment as well and with what should you summarize on each of the article. For the third article you need to find relevant topic and should be peer reviewed article.
