To complete this project you need to identify, research and visit a historic site associated with African Americans in your home town (or a town nearby)
Please turn in report on the site including:
A photograph of the site as it is today
a historic photo if you can locate one.
the names of the people associated with it
The dates of its occupation or of the event that took place there
Its precise location (address or UTM coordinates)
A general discussion of the history of the site (at least a paragraph)
A statement on the meaning of the site in light of issues brought up in this week’s consideration of Africa American archaeology
Complete bibliographic references of your source(s)
I recommend that you contact your local historical society or public library in your home town or county and ask to speak with an archivist or local historian who can help you get started and perhaps provide you with useful sources.
use the Peter Mott Underground Railroad House as the site
