The thesis that I need to have done is for school. Content and formalities of the thesis is as follows:
Length of the thesis has to be 13-15 pages long (of written text excluding diagrams/ pictures).
Topic of my thesis: an evaluation of the effectiveness of law enforcement strategies employed to combat the Mafia in New York City from around the 1970´s to recent years (2000´s).
Research topic: an analysis if completely eradicating organized crime is possible on the basis of the evaluation worked out.
The use of diagrams and statistics from reliable sources is encouraged.
Further remarks:
According to my own research, the Mafia (“La Cosa Nostra” as one of the most powerful) in NYC was at its peak in the 1940´s until the 1970´s before the RICO-Act along with other laws were enacted, which was a decisive factor for their downfall. For this reason, I chose to concentrate on the time period between 1970 and the 2000´s in my thesis.
Besides, we were recommended to use databanks of the “Staatsbibliothek München” (state library munich) or of the “Amerikahaus” in munich. In order to minimize suspicion of ghost writing, please try to use these databanks to obtain literature to this topic.
Formalities:
– margin settings: 2.5cm all sides
– justified text with an automatic hyphenation
– font: Times New Roman
– font size: 12
– 1.5 line spacing
– page numbers (preferably bottom right)
