Instructions for the paper include:
The paper should be at least ten pages of content, not including the title page or reference page.
The paper should be double spaced, 12 pt. font, in APA style, http://owl.english.purdue.edu/owl/resource/724/1with at least four scholarly (peer- reviewed) references. Instructions for locating articles are in the course web site resources.
All research projects will be checked for plagiarism and if plagiarism is found, a zero for the paper will be awarded. Any paper with a Similarity Report over 30 will be rejected.
For clarification’s sake, one may not submit a paper, in part or full, that one has previously authored for this or another Barry class or for any other purpose. The paper should be at least five pages of content, not including title page or reference
Also, please complete the authentication verification (found in the syllabus), scan it, and upload it separate from your paper submission (this will eliminate the similarity found by Turn It In on the verification form)
When writing your paper, please refer to the grading rubric found in this syllabus, as that is the basis on which your paper will be
It is strongly recommended that you utilize the Writing Lab by visiting campus, either using your campus’s onsite English tutor, or utilizing the OWL.
Term Paper and Presentation Components
· Numbered pages, 12 point Times New Roman font, 1” margins all around, APA 7th edition, double-spaced, left-aligned with right ragged edge.
· Cover page with title and author.
· An executive summary (technically not APA) could be used as your title and cover page.
· Planning and budgeting concerns of the company are found in Annual Report or in company articles
· The company’s Financial Ratios and an industry comparison of the ratios. ROE will suffice.
· Main products of the company. If there are many products, a synopsis will suffice.
· Financial strategy and/or overall strategy of the company (SWOT analysis). SWOT should be easy to find.
· Future prospects of the company based on your own opinion or relevant research such as Value Line or other financial periodicals. This is your personal recommendation and could be based on your analysis if you deem necessary.
· Current Stock price or a plotting of the stock price over time. This can be found very easily just by asking SIRI.
· Do you recommend this company as a buy, sell, or hold stock? Perhaps you would not even invest in this company.
· Concluding thoughts. This is where you can add anything else you think about the company you have researched.
· What did you learn from the project? This is your own reflection on learning.
· References (Cite all references in your paper using APA 7th edition format). This could be part of the ten pages.
· Appendix (Include what you think relevant to your analysis). This should NOT be part of the ten pages.
