After completing Palmer’s book, To Know As We Are Known, you should aim to address the concepts below in a 4-5 page paper, reporting on Palmer’s views while also incorporating your own thoughts. Following APA formatting is mandatory. Students who do not do so will lose significant points as a result. Make note that your cover page and References do NOT count toward the page total. You do NOT need to provide an abstract. You are required to cite a minimum of two (3) additional academic, scholarly sources, other than the Palmer book itself (which should also be on your References page), to accompany and/or back up your ideas and responses. You are encouraged to be creative in doing research. References are expected to be accurately and fully cited.
Paper Criteria:
- Identify and explain one key element of INTRApersonal communication.
- Report on Palmer’s view in your own words (i.e. not just repeating/retyping what he states).
- Answer the question, what does it mean to “know thyself”?
- Discuss your point of view and anything else you deem relevant.
- Include implications and challenges of this important endeavor for people in the 21st century.
