Pick two films from class to compare/contrast cinematically, culturally, and personally.
How can film give us an insight into a culture or society and its many practices (positive or negative?) How does film serve to educate/inform audiences without any prior knowledge or experience, or even those with it, to grow their understanding?
Choose two examples of artistic expression (films) that we have seen to this point and explore the cultural meanings and human significance of each. Discuss each example using the film terms and concepts appropriate for that artistic form (films,) and show how each film shapes, reflects, or critiques the society and culture from which it comes, including an examination of the differences within the society (societies.) A considered response is likely to require at least one page (single-spaced)of typewritten text per film.) You should also explore the impact on you as a viewer (emotionally, reflectively, personal connection, etc.
I am NOT looking for a movie review. I am looking for observational and external research that aligns with the films you choose to discuss any and all elements of the film.
